Send from the institute's official number and share only the class, date and makeup slot. Never share other students' names or numbers.
Name the class, the date and the time, say it is cancelled, and give a one-line reason. Then say what happens next: a makeup class, a new date, or work to do at home. Sign off with the school or teacher's name. Three or four short sentences is enough.
A class postponed message moves the class to a later date, often without the new date fixed yet. A class reschedule message gives a confirmed new date or time. If you can, always reschedule rather than postpone, so families can plan straight away.
Address students directly, name the subject or batch, and give the date and time that is cancelled. Tell them what to do with the free slot, such as revising a chapter or finishing a worksheet, and when the class resumes. Add a link to any study material.
