A bounce message should tell the borrower what failed, what it costs, and how to fix it, in that order.
State the facts and charges without threats, and contact borrowers only between 8 am and 7 pm, as RBI recovery rules require. Never ask for an OTP.
Paste the day's bounce report into a Google Sheet, one borrower per row, with columns for name, loan number, EMI, bounce charge, total due and retry date.
Open SheetWA, paste the template, and each placeholder fills from the sheet column with the same name. Every borrower sees their own charge and retry date.
Attach the charges statement PDF if you like, preview a few rows, and send. Delivery and read status come back to the sheet.

Tell borrowers their loan is sanctioned, with the amount, tenure, rate and next step.
Remind borrowers of the EMI amount, due date and how to pay, before and after it falls due.
Offer personal loans with the amount, rate and one clear next step, plus an opt-out.
Confirm a payment with the amount, date, mode and reference, plus the receipt.
Remind cardholders of the total due, minimum due and due date, and confirm payments.
Confirm a cash, cheque, UPI or salary credit with the amount, account and balance.
Remind customers what they owe and by when, from a friendly nudge to a final notice.
It is a notice from the lender that your EMI could not be collected on the due date, usually because the account had too little balance or the mandate failed. It states the unpaid amount, the bounce charge, the next debit date and how to pay. A genuine one never asks for an OTP or PIN.
Lender name first, then the masked loan number, the EMI amount, the date it bounced, the total now due and one way to pay, ending with a helpline. Keep it under 160 characters so it arrives as one SMS. Save the full charge breakdown for the WhatsApp message.
It depends on the lender and is written in your loan agreement and key fact statement. Most banks and NBFCs charge a fixed fee per bounce, often a few hundred rupees plus 18% GST. Your own bank may add a separate fee for the failed debit. A good bounce message states the exact amount.
The money may have arrived after the debit ran, or the mandate may be the problem: a signature mismatch, a closed account, or an e-mandate limit lower than the EMI. Check the reason in the message, or call the lender's official helpline. A mandate issue is fixed by registering a fresh e-mandate.
Lenders report payment status to credit bureaus every month. An EMI that stays unpaid past its due date shows as days past due, and repeated bounces can lower your score and make future loans costlier. Paying the bounced amount quickly, before the next reporting date, limits the damage.
It varies by lender. Many retry within a few days, and some only on the next month's due date. The bounce message should name the retry date. If it does not, pay the dues directly through the lender's official link instead of waiting, so late charges stop adding up.
Yes. Put the day's bounce list in a Google Sheet with the charge and retry date for each borrower, paste a template into SheetWA, and send one personalised message per row from your own WhatsApp number. For very high volumes, use the SheetWA WhatsApp API with approved templates.
Treat it as a last resort. A settlement closes the loan for less than the full due, but it is reported as settled, not closed, and can hurt your credit for years. Ask the lender about a part payment, a new EMI date or a longer tenure first, and accept any settlement only in writing.
